What is ZTC?

ZTC (Zero Textbook Cost) classes are offered with FREE TEXTBOOKS FOR STUDENTS. Students taking ZTC classes may average savings between $1,400 and $1,700 per year.听

ZTC classes may use the following resources:聽

  • Open Educational Resources (OER):聽openly available to the public聽

  • Lending Library聽Textbooks: available for check-out at the campus library and/or bookstore for the semester

  • Faculty-Created Content:聽provided in class聽

  • Online Course Content: accessed through the college library, websites, or publisher databases聽

Moorpark, Oxnard, and Ventura College faculty have adopted and created hundreds of ZTC course materials to provide high-quality educational materials to you鈥痑t鈥 no cost online鈥痑苍诲鈥痺颈迟丑听low-cost print options.听

How do I find ZTC classes?聽

  1. Visit the class schedule: | |
  2. Click on 鈥淪earch鈥擜ll Classes鈥 and select 鈥淎dvanced Search鈥
  3. Select 聽Zero Textbook Cost classes for sections filter and any other desired search options
  4. Register for the courses on the portal.

Where is my online textbook?

Due to the custom nature of ZTC resources聽and the many ways to integrate content into a course, your ZTC textbook may be provided as a PDF, on a website, or embedded into the course within Canvas. Check with the instructor of the course for more information.听
